“Girl, that was awesome!” Raini exclaimed as the crowd that had gathered from my performance started to disperse.
I scoffed. “Yeah, that girl needs to know that Ross is mine and no one else can have him.”
“So, you’re saying that you still have feelings for him?” Raini asked. “What about—“
“Noah, yadda yadda.” I finished. “I don’t like him anymore and you know what? I’m breaking up with him.”
“Now…on the phone.” I replied as I took out my phone from my jeans pocket and dialed Noah’s number.
At exactly five seconds of ringing, Noah answered.
“Hello?”
“Hey Noah, it’s me Laura. I just called to say—“
“I love you. I know.” Noah interrupted.
“No. Actually, I’m breaking up with you. I’m sorry. Bye!” I said before hanging up.
Raini stared at me in disbelief as I stuffed my phone back in my pocket. “Wow. You do know how to break up with a guy.” She commented.
I laughed before wrapping my arm around her shoulder. “Come on, let’s go home. I’m tired from all the awesomeness I did.”
Raini laughed. “Yeah…”
As we were about to exit the venue, someone cleared his throat on the microphone getting everyone’s attention.
“Hi, I’m Ross. And I want to sing a song in response to Laura a while ago.” He announced and it made me turn around.
I crossed my arms over my chest as Ross caught my eyes and we held our gazes throughout the song.

I shifted uncomfortably from where I stand as I watched Olivia marched towards Ross and grabbed the microphone from him.
“Wow Laura, I guess he’s still mine. Sorry.”
I turned to my heels as a tear rolled down my cheek. I guess I was being a fool for even thinking that I can get Ross back. Maybe we aren’t really meant to be together. Maybe I should finally embrace the fact that there will be no us anymore…
…Because he has moved on, and maybe it’s time that I do too.
Goodbye, Ross. It’s great having you as my boyfriend. But if you only know, I’ll keep our memories together locked in my heart forever.
