"Mom, I'm just gonna go and take a walk, 'kay?" 20 year old, Jessica Sanchez asked.

She and her family just recently went back to her hometown for the summer and she wanted to visit all the places she missed. She wanted to reconnect with all her friends she left behind before she moved to another part of the country. She wanted to taste the pastries she grew up eating from the bakery located just around the corner.

"Okay." Her mom replied and with that, Jessica stepped out of her house and inhaled the summer air. She opened her eyes and gazed up at the sky. She smiled to herself as she admired the beauty of her surroundings. Stepping down the stairs, she decided to head to the bakery.

She was about to turn the corner when something caught her eye. Jessica turned her head to the right and saw the long, thick bushes just behind her house. Deciding to just visit the bakery before she heads home, she climbed up her not so tall fence and headed towards the bushes. As she nears her destination, her eyebrows met in confusion as she can make out some metal, almost looking like a gate. She stopped in her tracks when she realized it really was a gate.

Out of curiosity, she trudged along and opened the gate.

“What’s taking her so long? She’s always late!” Elise Testone, one of Jessica Sanchez’s friends complained as she and the rest of her friends stood by the venue’s entrance waiting for Jessica.

“Elise, give her some time. Maybe she’s still dolling herself up. Besides, she’s going to be the Prom Queen anyway.” Hollie Cavanaugh came in defense for Jessica.

“How do you know she’s going to win?” Elise asked.

“I have a feeling.”

While Hollie and Elise were deep in conversation about the Prom, Skylar Laine noticed the sea of people starting to part by the entrance gate like how Moses parted the Red Sea. “Guys, what’s happening right there? Why is everyone parting?” Skylar asked.

Hey followers! It’s me, the author of the ColtJess song-shots. To tell you all the truth, I’m not really good with Photoshop and I want my one-shots to be posted on Wattpad but I need a book cover for it. So, if any of you are willing to make me a book cover, please do. I would appreciate that.

But it’s going to be a contest. The first 5 who will submit his/her book cover will be the finalists and then I’ll choose which one is the best.

Requirements:

Title should be: “The Adventures of Mickey & Minnie” with a photo of this:

Elise Testone just placed the plate of scrambled eggs on the table before settling down on her usual seat at the dining area. She eyed everyone and noticed that someone in particular is missing.        

“Where is Jessica?” Elise asked.

Everyone turned to look around them and saw no sign of Jessica around. Elise nudged Skylar on the arm. “Can you check on her? Maybe she’s oversleeping.” She asked.

Skylar nodded. “Sure.” She stood up and headed upstairs and into Jessica’s room. Skylar poked her head inside and saw Jessica’s petite frame curled up in the bed with her comforter wrapped around her.

“Jessica?”

“Hmm?” she answered.

“Why are you still here?” Skylar asked.

“I’m not feeling so well.” Jessica answered.

#11: Everything

“Mom, I have to go back to church. I think I left my purse in there.” Jessica told her mother as she sat down at the kitchen stool and watched her mother prepare snacks for her little brothers and their friends who came over for a play date.

Mrs. Sanchez nodded. “Sure, but be back early. Deandre’s coming over remember? You haven’t seen him ever since he went to Florida to have that family vacation he’d always wanted.” She reminded.

Jessica laughed. “Of course Mom, I promise I’ll be home early. Besides, Deandre’s my best friend. I know that he’s coming back.” She said.

“Okay then, off you go.”

#10: What Makes You Beautiful

It all started waaaaaay back in Detroit where the first day of our Idol Tour was held. We were already on the stage, prepared to do ourJust The Way You Are/What Makes You Beautiful group number. Hollie and I were on the top of the stairs. And when the lights went out, it was show time.

We started singing the intro and a couple lines before Colton emerged from the door singing and he stopped right in the middle of Hollie and I. We were singing the back up and towards the middle of the Just The Way You Are song, Colton tickled me lightly on my waist and it caused for me to turn around and smile at him. When we were nearing the end, I was left standing alone at the top of the stairs to prepare for our What Makes You Beautiful position.

“Baby, you light up my world like nobody else…” I heard Skylar sang.

“The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed…” Hollie sang as she played along with Deandre’s hair.

“But when you smile at the ground it ain’t hard to tell…” Joshua sang.

And the song went on.

That’s what we’ve been doing every night as we go across the country, entertaining people and our fans in every state. Then it suddenly came to the point where we only have five more shows to go and Idol Tour is officially done.

We were on it again. Preparing for that same number. It wasn’t getting boring, honestly. Even though you’re singing the same songs and dancing the same choreography over and over again or wearing the same clothes over and over again, it doesn’t get tiring because every night is a different night, different energy, and different crowd. Sometimes we change minor things on our songs and dance routines but the crew doesn’t care about it. It’s our way to fun things up even more.

#6: More Than This

 I woke up that morning to loud cheering coming from the kitchen downstairs. I immediately stood up to find out what it was. When I was halfway down the stairs, I saw Jessica and Deandre all over each other with all the Idols surrounding them.

I didn’t even bother going downstairs anymore for my heart was literally broken; shattered into a million pieces. Who was I anyway to think that there was something going on between Jessica and I? Besides, we were illegal anyway. She’s sixteen and I’m twenty. I love her that much that I, with all honesty, would wait for her to turn eighteen so that we can finally be legal…and can actually be together.

I didn’t even notice I was lifelessly standing at the stairs looking at Deandre planting a kiss on Jessica’s cheek until Skylar accidentally glanced my way and saw me.

“Hey, you’re up.” Skylar said. She must’ve talked too loud that everybody turned to look at me, even Jessica did. “We were just celebrating. Who would’ve thought that after all this time, there were romance going on with these two.”

I just nodded glumly. “Congratulations, you two. I just want to say, I’m happy for you.” I said as I waved a hand and went back upstairs. I made sure to look back at Jessica one last time and I saw her looking at me with sadness in her eyes.

“I got a secret. But you guys have to guess. I’ll nod if you got it right.” Jessica told her best friends during their weekly Friday night sleepovers.

“Let me guess, you went shopping today and you got yourself that new handbag that I’d been dying to have but you won’t tell me that you bought it because I might get mad at you?” Hollie said in one breath.

Jessica stared at her in disbelief. “No,” she said shaking her head. “Why would I do that, Hollie?”

“You’re right. You’d never do such a thing.” The blonde agreed.

“Today’s your cheat day and you didn’t spend it with me?” Elise asked. She and Jessica are each other’s trainers when it comes to physical activities. They help each other on their diets and spends one cheat day a week with each other, eating and drinking as much junk as they can. Besides, they know how to get rid of it anyway.

“No, won’t do it without you, Leesy.” Jessica replied.

“Got a boyfriend?” Skylar asked.

Jessica nodded, causing for all the girls to squeal in delight.

"Who is he?” Elise asked.

“Deandre.” Jessica said.

#1: I Will Always Love You

"Stop there for a moment." Jessica Sanchez instructed her cab driver as soon as the city's mini-theatre came into her sight.

A river of memories came streaming by immediately. It was where she would always go whenever she felt like singing or sometimes when she's lonely. It's where she first starred as the female lead role in a musical. She could go on and on but the best part about that mini-theatre was it's the place where she first laid eyes on him and fell in love faster even before she could say it.

"I'm sorry to break the news but our male lead role, Phillip Phillips broke his leg and wouldn't be able to walk for months." The director announced. "I'm sorry Jessica."

There were a lot of "aw's" and "too bad's."

"But..." the director said with a smile, "that doesn't mean that the show is discontinued. Just three hours after that devastating new about Phillip, someone generously auditioned for the male lead role."

"Who is it?" Elise Testone, one of the musicale's cast, asked.

"Please welcome, Colton Dixon!" the director announced.

Suddenly, a tall skinny guy with blond, spiky hair came walking down the theater's aisle. Jessica turned her head around and felt her heart fluttering and the corners of her mouth twitching into a smile.
